Therapist Terms & Conditions

1. About TaM

TaM is a platform designed to help people find therapists who may fit their needs, preferences, and circumstances. TaM is not itself the provider of therapy, counselling, or clinical care.

TaM is for adults aged 18 and over to use. Adults may use the platform to search for therapists for themselves or for a child or young person in their care. Under-18s are not direct users of the platform.

We may review, moderate, accept, reject, suspend, or remove therapist applications or profiles at our discretion.

2. Eligibility

By applying to join TaM, you confirm that:

• you are at least 18 years old
• the information you provide is accurate and not misleading
• you hold any qualifications, memberships, registrations, insurance, and supervision appropriate to your practice
• you are legally entitled to provide the services you describe
• your practice complies with applicable legal, ethical, and professional requirements

We may ask for supporting evidence at any stage.

3. Verification and approval

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or listing on TaM.

We may review profile completeness, professional information, verification status, fit with current platform criteria, and any other information we consider relevant.

We may:

• request further information
• ask you to correct or update your profile
• accept or decline your application
• remove or suspend a profile where we believe this is necessary

4. Your profile and portal content

You are responsible for the content you submit to TaM, including your biography, specialisms, approaches, pricing, location, and other profile information.

You agree that your profile content:

• is accurate, current, and truthful
• does not misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or services
• does not infringe any third-party rights
• is professional and lawful
• does not contain defamatory, offensive, or misleading material

You retain ownership of your original content, but you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use, store, display, reproduce, and adapt that content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving TaM.

5. Professional responsibility

You remain solely responsible for:

• your therapeutic work
• clinical decision-making
• risk assessment and safeguarding
• client communications and boundaries
• record keeping
• supervision
• insurance
• compliance with your professional body and any legal obligations

TaM does not supervise, direct, or control your clinical practice.

6. Matching and enquiries

TaM may use the information in your profile to help match you with users or present your profile in search and recommendation results.

We do not guarantee any number of matches, enquiries, clients, or income.

Where TaM passes on an enquiry or contact request, you remain responsible for deciding whether and how to respond, and whether the person is suitable for your service.

7. Fees and charges

At present, there is no fee to apply or to be listed on TaM. We may introduce fees in future, in which case we will give reasonable notice before any change takes effect.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

• misuse the portal or website
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the system
• upload malicious code or harmful content
• scrape, copy, or exploit platform data without permission
• use TaM in a misleading, unlawful, or abusive way

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to TaM, or remove your profile, at any time where we reasonably believe this is necessary, including where:

• information provided is inaccurate or misleading
• verification cannot be completed
• your conduct may harm users, TaM, or others
• you breach these Terms and Conditions
• your registration, insurance, or professional standing changes in a material way

You may request closure of your profile at any time by contacting us at support@therapyamatch.com.

10. Data protection

We will handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for handling any client or prospective client information you receive in accordance with your own legal and professional obligations.

11. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the TaM platform, website, branding, and systems belong to us or our licensors, except for content owned by therapists or other users.

You may not copy, reproduce, or exploit any part of TaM except as permitted by law or with our written consent.

12. Disclaimers

TaM provides a platform to help users identify therapists who may be relevant to their needs. We do not guarantee that any match, introduction, or enquiry will lead to a therapeutic relationship or particular outcome.

We make reasonable efforts to operate the platform, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the platform will always be error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Subject to that, TaM shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the platform.

Our total liability in relation to the platform shall be limited to the amount you have paid to us in the previous 12 months, or £100 if no fee has been paid.

14. Changes to these Terms and Conditions

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the therapist portal after updated terms take effect will mean you accept the updated version.

15. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
